Signs Of A Mice Infestation

1. Droppings: One of the most common signs of a mouse infestation is finding small, dark, and pellet-like droppings near food sources, cabinets, or baseboards. Fresh droppings are typically shiny and moist, while older ones are dry and brittle.  
2. Gnaw Marks: Mice often chew on wires, furniture, or packaging to keep their teeth sharp. Look for fresh, rough marks on surfaces where mice may have been active.  
3. Scratching Noises: During the night, you might hear faint scratching or scurrying sounds coming from walls, ceilings, or under floors, as mice are most active after dark.  
4. Nests: Mice create nests using shredded paper, fabric, or other soft materials. These nests are often hidden in secluded areas such as under furniture, inside walls, or behind appliances.  
5. Grease Marks and Tracks: Look for dark, greasy smudge marks along walls or floorboards caused by mice repeatedly traveling the same routes. You may also spot tiny footprints or tail marks in dusty areas.  
6. Unusual Odors: A strong, musky ammonia-like smell in confined spaces can indicate the presence of mice, as this odor comes from their urine.  
7. Damaged Food Packaging: Mice often chew through food containers and packaging, leaving visible damage and scattered crumbs. This is a sure sign they are seeking food on your property.  
8. Seeing a Mouse: Spotting a live mouse during the day is a significant indication of a heavy infestation, as mice usually stay hidden during daylight hours.
