Pickmere Bumblebee Hive Removal
Bumblebees are often considered docile creatures, but that isn’t always the case. These insects can be troublesome around the home, stinging multiple times if they feel threatened. Their stingers aren’t just painful but also dangerous, as they can cause anaphylactic shock in some people. It’s essential to be aware of these risks when dealing with bumblebees, especially if you have young children or pets who might not be able to avoid them. Suppose you encounter a bumblebee nest near your home. In that case, it’s best to call a professional Pickmere Bumblebee Nest Removal Service Near Me to remove it safely.
Many risks and dangers come from having a bumblebee nest on your property in the UK. These include being stung, which can cause allergic reactions or, in worse conditions, even death. The risk is incredibly high if you have an allergy to bee venom; even one sting can be fatal. If you enjoy gardening or working outdoors, there’s also the potential of being stung while you work.
Nesting Habits
Bumblebees are often seen flying around gardens and parks. However, many people may not know that these insects can nest in their backyard. Bumblebees will build their nests in various locations, including in trees, under the roof of a building, or in a garden shed. Nests can also be found in more unusual places, such as in a new birdhouse or a hole in a fence. Nesting sites can be pretty challenging to reach. That’s why it’s vital to contact Pickmere Bumblebee Nest Removal Service Near Me. Our experts are trained to tackle any bumblebee situation.
The Tree Bumblebee
Bumblebees are one of the only honey bees to produce very noticeable yellow and black stripes. The size varies by species, with B. hypnorum, common in England, around 0.6-0.8 centimetres long with a wingspan that can reach beyond 1 cm. Females have a stinger and are the only ones capable of inflicting a human a painful sting. However, they are not known to be aggressive and will only sting if they feel threatened. Nests are often found in small groups in cavities or voids and can contain up to 400 bees at their peak.
The White-tailed Bumblebee
The White-tailed Bumblebee is a small, black and yellow bee standard in the UK. They nest in the ground or old tree stumps and usually have between 50 and 300 bees in their colonies. The White-tailed Bumblebee is small, measuring around 15-19mm in length.
The Red-tailed Bumblebee
The Red-tailed Bumblebee, or Bombus lapidarius, is a species of bumblebee found in the UK. These bees are around 12-14mm long and are primarily black or dark brown, with red hairs on their tails. They nest in the ground, often in abandoned rodent burrows, and usually only sting if directly threatened.
If you see an increase in bumblebees around your home, it is vital to take action quickly. Do not try to remove the bees yourself using DIY products – this can be dangerous and ineffective. Instead, contact a professional bee removal service like Pickmere Bumblebee Nest Removal Service Near Me. We have the expertise and equipment necessary to remove bumblebee nests from your property safely. Contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation.

I could not fault the service which I used for a wasp nest above a bedroom window. After contacting the company I received a phone call back within a few minutes to book the treatment the following day. Unfortunately it was raining heavily and someone phoned to say the treatment is not fully effective in the rain and they would prefer to postpone. The wasps were getting in the house and they suggested we try to put tape around any possible access points, which we did. Another day was booked but unfortunately the same thing occurred. This is Manchester after all. I was given the option of going ahead or postponing again and chose the latter as I wanted it to be as effective as possible. On the next appointment day, which was dry, they phoned and said they would be at my home in 20 minutes. Sure enough they were. I got a good explanation of what they did, how the wasps would react, how long it would take to work and I could watch the process. I pointed out where the wasps were gathering and straight away the technician saw another, smaller nest area. They treated both very quickly with no mess. In view of having to change the date twice they just charged for one treatment, despite me saying it wasn't their fault. I was very impressed with the overall service, the informative description of the process and the fact that within two days there were no more signs of wasps. If there has been they said they come back and do another treatment for no extra charge. I was even asked if I minded them staying on the drive whilst they contacted the next customer. Youngs Pest Control give a brilliant, efficient, informative and friendly service. If I could give ten stars in the review I would.Posted on AndrewTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. How Weather Affects Bumblebees In Pickmere
Bumblebee nests are highly affected by weather conditions. Warm, dry spells boost activity and colony growth, often leading to larger nests near gardens or properties. In contrast, colder or wetter periods slow them down, but once conditions improve, bumblebees quickly become more active and noticeable around homes.
